Thriller

As you may or may not know, Jeremy and Rachel are big MJ fans.
Here is some Thriller for you. Happy Halloween!

"I ain't afraid of no ghosts."

Tonight Amy and Rachel went to Spookyworld, an overpriced Halloween theme event at a local exhibition center. We hit up 4 haunted houses in one night. That is pretty good in my book. At one point Amy was so scared she grabbed the arm of the women in front of her...in another haunted house we were so spooked that when we came to a straight away we booked it past all the people in front of us and screamed "save yourselves!" Good times.

You wonder why Jer was not there. Answer - too scared :)

Pearls Before Swine

Wednesday we hit up an open mic in downtown Boston. Got a killer parking space - no need to feed the meter. Jeremy rocked the drunk after work crowd and managed to get a few howels out of them when he launched into "Let's get it on".

At wrap up time we headed back to the car. Got slammed with a $20 ticket. Inspection overdue by a month. Who knew?

Pictures of the Family "Out West"

Pictures of our family in California. Dad is doing well and the picuture of him and Owen with matching shirts, made by all talented Thom, might be the cutest thing we've seen all year. And then there's the photo of Owen dressed up like a cow. What can I say about that?

Marshall Farms

This weekend we added another notch in our fall festivities belt and went to Marshall Farms in Fichburg, MA. The place was packed with fun nonsensical things to do. We got lost in a corn maze for an hour, got to pat & feed goats, horses and pigs and consume some mean hot apple cider, carmel apples and hot dogs. Check out some of our photos and a video from our journey on the cow train. The best $2.00 ever spent.

Microfinance/Microcredit

Recently, Muhammed Yunus and Grameen Bank won the 2006 Nobel Peace prize for "developing micro-credit for as an instrument in the struggle against poverty". Above is a video to school you on it a bit. I knew very little about it till very recently. Enjoy.

Dear Dad,

We are glad you are feeling better. We wanted to let you know that we love you. If you are reading this than that means you are at home and feeling better and that makes us happy.
Take care of yourself.

Love,
Us

Coincidence?

Since a bunch of family members recently received our blog info, I thought I should post the photograph I have mentioned to several people over this past summer. The photo below is a picture of some of my beautiful little cousins (hi kids!). From left to right you have three pairs of siblings all sitting side by side in a nice little row. See anything interesting? Look at their hands. Each pair of siblings has the same hand position! My vote: human development in action.

3,165-ft.

We didn't climb it, but we walked around it. Not ALL the way around, but, you know, around. Mt. Monadnock in New Hampshire was our destination to take care of some obligatory New England leaf peeping. If you don't peep, you have not passed through the seasonal rites of passage and you are doomed to snow covered cars, multiple blizzards, unending amounts of hot chocolate, and, the worst, ice covered windshield wipers. So, we did it. Here is the proof. The bad news is a lot of leaves have not turned. We are doomed. We are sure we will have ample proof of that come February.

Here are some views from a great vista we came upon on a trail called "cliff walk".

Can't Top This

What are you doing tonight? We are hitting up the $2.50 movie theater in The Q to check out "Snakes on Plane". Jealous? You know it. All those snakes for two dollars and fifty cents. Snap!

Read a review:

"Truly, this is the greatest movie about snakes on a plane ever made so far!" Gregory Weinkauf, 20 August, 2006

Breathe Again

"Pop-pop gets a Grisham?"

We have been taking in the "Arrested Development" series. Freaking brilliant. First two episodes make you squirm, then you are hooked.

"Love that Dirty Water"

Tonight we are heading over to the MIT sailing pavilion to take an evening sail on the Charles River. Our friend and super sailor Matt is taking us out. He is known for making his landlubber friends freak out as he tips the boat as far as he can and laughs. This guy knows what he is doing.
