Political Post - Our frenemy, "Dubya"

"I'll be long gone before some smart person ever figures out what happened inside this Oval Office." - George "Dubya".

I found this website today and there are a lot of nit picky misspeaks on here that I find hard to hold against the "Dubya," but then there are other gems like the one quoted above.

The following movies weren't mind blowing but they were entertaining. Picture this, Don Knots as G.W.

I found the following witty post on the five worst presidents ever. The writer gives G.W. a provisional ranking of number 2. I think that's fair.

I was going to try to write about the worst things to happen in the last 10 years and George Bush being elected to a second term was going to be one of them, but then I realized that I am not that witty and not edumacated on world events enough to do the list justice. So you are left with this post. Enjoy the links. I propose that we make this post's opening quote the slogan for Dubya's second term in office.

LA Trip for Jeremy

I just returned from a trip to LA to see my family. It was great to see everyone that I saw and also especially great to spend so much time with my brother, sister-in-law, and nephews. I took the morning shift, which I was happy to do, which entailed waking up before 6am when Owen woke up and playing with him for an hour or two while his parents got some more sleep. We played with blocks (Rachel and I bought him these last Christmas):

We played with Thomas trains:
I feel that this trip was filled with great accomplishments on my part. One is that I christened Mike's PS3 as a game console (he bought it primarily for its blue ray capabilities) and also managed to beat the first game ever on that machine. The second accomplishment is building an elaborate train track on the train table incorporating all of Owen's major components.
Here is the first complete incarnation:
I later realized that the above version only allowed you to change directions once and then you were stuck. So I revised it and here is the finished model, complete with train yard:
Another accomplishment was soothing a baby and fortunately I got lots of face time with both nephews:

This is Owen wearing a Kick-A** outfit on my last day there. Those aren't checkered shoes you see, those are skull shoes.
This next photo I just think is funny because I caught him in a position that looks very much like a modeling pose. Eat your heart out Zoolander.

Leaving on a jet plane

That's right. I am leaving on one of these,

to go see my family including my new nephew, Nicholas. I will be flying alone partly because it's so expensive and partly because Rachel is almost 8 months pregnant.

I am very excited to be out in spread out and laid back California even if it is in the LA area. I probably won't do much more than play with Owen (first nephew), help out with Nicholas, hang out with my family (brother, sister-in-law, parents), and eat.

I may not be in a position to post an official post but I will still be twittering. Rachel will be working and trying to stay cool I imagine.

I hate airports and commercial flights but I love to travel. Which basically means I look forward to being somewhere rather than in the process of getting there via public transportation that involves the TSA.

Is anyone else as excited as I am about the World Wide Developer's Conference (Macworld)?

File this post under the nerd category.

Happy Birthday!

Today is my birthday and to celebrate I tried to just relax. For the most part it worked. The carpeteers came today and carpeted the cubby.

I got to was the bike which is somewhat therapeutic.
Rachel tried a new fun little thing we call cake cookies.

This is the game to play. I won 2600 tickets which earned us a bag full of worthless junk.

We were playing mini golf, I was winning, until the skies opened up.

and here is the birthday song.

All in all a great birthday.

Baby Furniture +

The original plan was to not buy a bassinet due to both space and financial reasons. As you will see, that plan has changed. It changed for two reasons: One, I found a bassinet with 4 sheets included for cheap on my company's intranet. B, we found out that our desired crib is temporarily unavailable, so having a bassinet will give us a few months wiggle room in regards to the crib.
Here is what we got:

And what did Rachel find inside but her very own Sugar Baby:

Here is a belly photo from 29 weeks and one day, that today.

Politics of Preschool

I do not intend to make a statement, but I thought this movie was a creative way of making a statement.
